SUSTAINABILITY
WHY GLASS?
ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS
REPLACEMENT PARTS
Did you know, in Australia over 1 billion single-use coffee cups, and approximately 375 million plastic bottles end up in landfill each year? Did you also know that approximately 92% of disposable coffee cups cannot be recycled, as a result of a plastic inner lining, meaning that even if you separate your cup and lid placing it in your recycle bin, that it ends up in landfill anyway?
By using a reusable coffee cup and water bottle, you can significantly minimise your own environmental footprint, by reducing your contribution to landfill waste, as well your carbon footprint by over 90% in comparison to using disposable products.
The life-cycle energy analysis of reusable cups must be considered over the course of their lifetime. Although the initial energy investment in the manufacture of a reusable cup or bottle is higher per unit in comparison to disposables, it is significantly lower when its 're-use' factor is considered.
The manufacturing energy of glass in comparison to other materials (such as plastic or ceramic) is significantly lower. Made of tough borosilicate glass, the
Cups 4 Conservation products are designed to be used again and again, for many years if looked after correctly. The energy investment for using our glass products in comparison to disposables (the number of uses the product needs to become carbon neutral) becomes positive after 12 uses (in comparison to plastic, 17 uses, and ceramic, 39 uses) . The energy use of every glass cup, accounting for its cleaning etc, continues to decline with increase in use.
Just as importantly, the taste of your tea and coffee is not compromised by being in contact with synthetic products. The double-walled design of the cups keeps its contents hot for longer, and the all-glass body and lid ensures a delicious tasting drink every time.
FOREST STEWARDSHIP CERTIFIED (FSC) ORGANIC BAMBOO
Because of its rapid growth rate (4-5 years in comparison to 80+ years for many hardwoods), bamboo is managed as an agricultural crop. Bamboo reproduces significantly more quickly that hardwood and is considered a rapidly renewable resource. Renowned for its CO2 absorbing and O2 producing capacity (carbon sequestration), use of sustainably sourced bamboo offers an environmental benefit.
The organic bamboo in Wild Life Environmental's Cups 4 Conservation products has been sourced from sustainably managed forests and plantations and is FSC®-certified (the most important global eco-label for sustainable wood sourcing).
As a non toxic, natural material, the bamboo in our products offer no restrictions in its end-of life phase and is 100% bio-degradable.
PACKAGING AND INFORMATION
As the sustainability of the packaging and information for our Cups 4 Conservation products is just as important to us as the environmental credentials of the products themselves, they are made from 100% recycled paper product.
Your cup is designed to be long life and, with the right care, to be reused over and over again. Should you require a replacement part, these can be ordered separately instead of purchasing an entirely new cup.
